PROGRAM
The project "Stimulating Youth Employment" is funded by the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany and implemented by the German Organization for International Cooperation - Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Labor the Republic of Serbia.
The activities and measures of the program were implemented by Roma students of the University of Nis, as the southern office of the URS.
Program goal: To provide young people aged 15 to 35 with the best possible conditions to position themselves on the labor market and to recognize, create and use employment opportunities.
Empowering Roma students to provide services in the field of increasing employability and career development, Roma youth who are in and out of the school system. Encouraging young people to take an active part in creating their own work future.
Program results: 12 Roma students were empowered to provide services in the field of increasing employability and career development, Roma youth who are in and out of the school system.
A total of 35 users were included in the two-day training "I want to work", high school students in Nis, unemployed Roma men and women from the Roma settlement Crvena Zvezda and unemployed Roma men and women from the Roma settlement Belgrade Mahala. 15 users are included in the KVIS measures.
11 users are included in the training programs for acquiring qualified skills for the profession of welder, driver of special machines and learning a foreign language. We have established cooperation with the company SITEL for the inclusion of Roma youth who speaks German for employment in the call center SITEL included the first 5 users.
RSU-NIS received recognition for the example of good practice of using specialized and ensuring the accessibility of career guidance and counseling activities for the program "I want to work" awarded by the Tempus Foundation.
